The whole basis of our faith should be locked firmly in this book of the bible. Somehow, we have managed to over a short period, really, copy all of the bad habits, almost verbatim, started by the Pharisees.
Acts 4:32-35
32-33The whole congregation of believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn't even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, "That's mine; you can't have it." They shared everything. The apostles gave powerful witness to the resurrection of the Master Jesus, and grace was on all of them.
34-35And so it turned out that not a person among them was needy. Those who owned fields or houses sold them and brought the price of the sale to the apostles and made an offering of it. The apostles then distributed it according to each person's need.
While it is said they practiced a daily discipline of worship in the temple, it also says that counseled each other. No mention is made of "spectator style" ministry. You know, a whole bunch of people hearing a speaker, saying, "Amen!" and "Preach it brother!" Such types of ministry are passive at very best and most Christians do not get involved. You can have nothing more that surface shine and be rotten to the core. Faith needs to be exercised. And yeah, it's gonna be tougher as you go, but the reward is well worth it.
I think the time clearly is now to lift one another up in small groups, close friends, fellow warriors. We cannot put this off any longer.
